John Jenkins and Pippa Murdie - The Sea Shanty New Brighton

Sunday, November 1 @ 7:45PM — 8:00PMSun, Nov 1 @ 7:45PM — 8:00PM

Taylor Tavern Birkenhead, 82 Taylor St, , Birkenhead CH41 1BQ

A Full Day of Music for a Great Cause This Sunday, 1st November, the Taylor Street Tavern in Birkenhead is hosting an All‑Dayer Open Mic in support of the Poppy Appeal — a brilliant chance for local musicians to come together and raise funds for a cause that means a great deal to so many people.

The music runs from midday right through to 8pm, with performers from across Wirral and Merseyside stepping up to share three songs each. It’s a simple format, but that’s part of the charm: a full day of grassroots talent, good company, and community spirit.

Pippa and I are honoured to be closing the event, playing our three‑song set from 7.45pm to 8pm. It’s only a short slot, but we’re genuinely proud to be part of something that brings people together and supports such an important charity. Sometimes it’s not about the length of the set — it’s about showing up, contributing, and celebrating the power of music to do some good.

If you’re free on Sunday, drop in at any point during the day. Stay for an hour, stay for the whole thing — every bit of support helps, and you’ll hear some wonderful local performers along the way.

A lovely event, a worthy cause, and a community that always shows up. Hope to see you there.

John Jenkins and Pippa Murdie - The Sea Shanty New Brighton Friday 6th November 2026

Friday, November 6 @ 7:00PMFri, Nov 6 @ 7:00PM

The Sea Shanty, 4 Atherton Street, , New Brighton, Wallasey CH45 2NY

A Gentle Afternoon of Songs at The Sea Shanty Our monthly slot at The Sea Shanty, New Brighton, is coming up again, and we’re really looking forward to it. It’s become one of those lovely, easygoing afternoons where people drift in, settle down with a coffee or something to eat, and enjoy a mix of songs old and new.

Pippa and I will be playing a blend of our own material, a few older favourites, and the odd cover that always seems to go down well. Nothing rushed, nothing formal — just a relaxed atmosphere, friendly faces, and a chance to share music in a place that genuinely feels welcoming.

If you’ve not been before, the food and coffee at The Sea Shanty are well worth recommending. It’s the kind of venue where you can sit back, enjoy the surroundings, and let the music do its thing.

We’ll be there Friday 6th November, mid‑day, and as always, it’s free. If you fancy a gentle start to the afternoon with some live music, we’d love to see you.

Telfords Warehouse Chester, Tower Wharf, Raymond St, , Chester CH1 4EZ

Debut Performance at Telford’s Warehouse We’re delighted to announce that Sunday 22nd November will be our debut performance at Telford’s Warehouse in Chester — a venue with a long, proud history of supporting live music and one we’ve admired for years. It’s always special stepping onto a stage that has hosted so many great artists, and we’re genuinely excited to add our names to that list.

For this show, we’ll be playing two 45‑minute sets, mixing newer songs with older favourites and a few covers that always seem to find their place. It’s a chance to stretch out a little, settle into the room, and share the full range of what we do.

We’re really looking forward to the evening and hoping people will come along to support us. There’s something about Telford’s — the atmosphere, the history, the way the audience leans in — that makes it feel like the perfect place for a first appearance.

If you’re in or around Chester, we’d love to see you there. It’s free entry, it’s a beautiful venue, and it would mean a lot to have you with us for this one.

Returning to the Courtyard Café We’re very happy to say that we’ll be back at the Courtyard Café, Castle Park Arts Centre in Frodsham, on Tuesday 22nd December for an 11am one‑hour show. This will be our second appearance there — and being invited back is always the best sign that something connected the first time around.

The Courtyard Café has a lovely atmosphere: relaxed, welcoming, and the perfect setting for an acoustic set. Last time we played, the audience response was genuinely heartening, and it felt like one of those mornings where everything just fell into place. So we’re delighted to return and share another hour of songs, old and new.

If you’re in the area, it’s a gentle way to start your Saturday — good coffee, friendly surroundings, and a mix of original material and a few familiar favourites. It’s free entry, and we’d love to see some familiar faces as well as new ones.

A lovely venue, a warm crowd, and a chance to play again somewhere that made us feel very welcome. Looking forward to it.
