Here John shares his library memories:
"I have so many library experiences – I lived around the corner from Larkhill Library – 1 minute away. I used to go as a child, and they had readings for the kids. When I started reading in my teens, I got introduced to Science Fiction books and was overwhelmed by the amount of books I could borrow. My favourite memory was visiting Central Library in Liverpool City Centre and discovering the very big room with its circular glass roof and the international library which was also breathtaking. For a child it was a magical experience. I was introduced to the ‘newspaper microfilm’ room as a child and was amazed to be reading old papers from the early century. Late teens at the Central Library I found the ‘record library’ and use to get Jazz albums out to check out new musical experiences.
I wrote a song that included a reference about my local library “Dressing Up The Truth” which I released this year. I was also absolutely over the moon to play at "Lister Drive Library” in Tuebrook as the opening night of my Tuebrook tour last year".
John's Favourite Book is Flora Thompson's Lark Rise to Candleford!
