🌟 Exciting News — Supporting Charlie Dore on 28 May 2026 I’m delighted to share that Pippa Murdie and I will be supporting the wonderful Charlie Dore at her Still Curious tour date on 28th May 2026.

Charlie is one of the UK’s most quietly influential and consistently brilliant songwriters — a true artist’s artist. Her songs have been recorded by Tina Turner, George Harrison, Céline Dion, Martha Wainwright, Ricky Ross, Paul Carrack and many more, yet her own live shows are something uniquely special: warm, witty, emotionally sharp, and full of musical craft.

Joined by her long‑time collaborator Julian Littman, the two create a world of stories, instrument‑swapping, humour, and beautifully observed songwriting. Recent accolades include FATEA Female Vocalist of the Year and Best Lyrics (US Indie Acoustic), and the reviews speak for themselves:

“Earnest and witty, tender and cynical all at the same time” — RnR Magazine

“One of our most intelligent and erudite singer‑songwriters” — FATEA

“Brave, poignant, entertaining, original” — The Guardian ★★★★

“A voice like Kate McGarrigle meets Dory Previn. Wonderful” — Mike Harding

“One of this country’s finest songwriters” — Americana UK

Pippa and I are thrilled to open the night. For anyone new to my music: I’m a Liverpool‑born folk/Americana songwriter with a love of storytelling and melody. I’ve been lucky enough to support artists including Chris Difford (Squeeze), Jarrod Dickenson, Robert Vincent, Dean Owens, and Steve Tilston, and I’m really looking forward to sharing the stage with Charlie.

It’s going to be a beautiful night of songs, stories, and proper musicianship

John Jenkins and Pippa Murdie - Live at the Prohibition Recording Studios (Supporting Jeremy Tuplin)

Friday, October 31, 2025 @ 7:00PMFri, Oct 31, 2025 @ 7:00PM

Prohibition Recording Studios, 24a Arrad Street, Liverpool L7 7BP

About The Events Jeremy Tuplin is a singer-songwriter from Somerset in south-west England, now residing in north London. Known for blending intricate lyricism and storytelling within a soundscape ranging from indie to psychedelic rock to “space-folk”, 2025 sees the arrival of Tuplin’s most intimate and personal, all the while characteristically understated, record: ‘Planet Heaven’. Tuplin’s fifth record since his debut ‘I Dreamt I Was An Astronaut’ in 2017, this offering’s dominant themes are the heaven-like essence of Planet Earth, and the fleeting, ephemeral nature of all things.

This follows the release of 2023’s disco-infused concept album ‘Orville’s Discotheque’, as well as ‘Pink Mirror’ in 2019 and ‘Violet Waves’ in 2020, all released on Trapped Animal to critical acclaim. For the recording of the latter of these albums, ‘Violet Waves’, Tuplin was awarded funding by PRS’ Open Fund. “9/10 – a really captivating (and remarkably cohesive) body of work” – Loud & Quiet Magazine

“9/10 – Bill Callahan on shrooms” – The Line Of Best Fit

“8/10 – Tuplin belongs in the lineage of arch dramatists like Tindersticks and The National” – Uncut Magazine National” – Uncut Magazine

John Jenkins – UK Americana Singer-Songwriter

Folk | Americana | Country

“One of the UK’s best and most original songwriters.” — Maximum Volume UK

“Nobody tells a story and soothes the soul quite like John Jenkins.” — Stereo Stickman USA

From Liverpool’s rich musical heritage, John Jenkins has carved a distinct path in the UK Americana scene.

Blending folk, country, and lyrical storytelling, his music evokes emotional depth and quiet power. Whether solo or with The James Street Band, Jenkins’s performances are intimate, authentic, and unforgettable. His latest album, Restless Hearts (2025), follows the acclaimed Tuebrook and Weary EP. Self-produced and recorded at Crosstown Studios, it features twelve original tracks exploring love, loss, and renewal— drawing inspiration from Dylan and Nanci Griffith.

Critics hail it as his finest work yet: “A triumph of songwriting and soul” (Liverpool Acoustic), “A master craftsman” (Fatea), and “Perfect for these troubled times” (Rockin’ Rich Lynch). Jenkins has supported artists like Chris Difford, Jarrod Dickenson, and Robert Vincent, and his music continues to resonate across borders.

With comparisons to Neil Young and Suzanne Vega, he remains a vital voice in contemporary storytelling.

Special Guests: Ian F Ball, John Booth & Linda Lamon with Niall Brett

John Booth "Having played everything from trad folk to rock'n'roll, John has played to all sorts of audiences in all sorts of places, but solo as a singer-songwriter he has 3 recent solo albums of original material to add to earlier recordings, songs to make you think, smile and feel, and songs you can join in with. Search for John Booth on Bandcamp."

Ian F Ball Singer & Musician

Ian F Ball has been playing is bands and performing as a solo artist, on and off, for the last 50 years. Now based in Oldham in the North West of England, Ian's music has been influenced by a wide range of artists from J. S. Bach to Big Bill Broonzy, via Arthur Askey and The Purple Gang, all the way to The Who and Led Zeppelin. He bought his first guitar aged 14 from Boots the Chemist and was excited to become a singer songwriter. Fast forward half a century or so and he’s finally done it. He’s not been treading water during those years though. Becoming an accomplished Melodeon player Ian self-published a book of tunes in the 90s, ‘One Too Many’. The title tune was picked up by UK based Belshazzar’s Feast and played on track one of their debut album of the same name. Other tunes have been picked up and recorded by bands on both sides of the Atlantic. He's played in various ceilidh, folk, blues and Americana bands over the years on, guitar, melodeon, harmonica, mandolin, whistle, keyboard and bouzouki, but now concentrates on writing for guitar and melodeon. "In that long line of minstrels and storytellers, Ian is among those who ensure that we know the stories that would otherwise be lost in time." David Gray, Salford City Radio. You can listen to Ian's music on Spotify and Bandcamp and all good streaming platforms.

Linda Lamon with Niall Brett

Stockport singer-songwriter Linda Lamon has spent the last five years releasing albums, performing live with her own band ‘About Time’ and her tracks have received air play with numerous UK & international stations, including several BBC shows and Boom radio. Linda has teamed up on vocals & ukelele with talented band member Niall Brett on guitar to perform some stripped back versions of her original songs. This is what people are saying about her music. “Fantastic! Great production & lovely vocals.” Sir Brian May (Queen guitarist and astrophysicist) (Venus Shine On). “Such luscious melodies and harmonic atmospheres. Fantastic songwriting. Lovely tracks.”. Steve Vai (USA Rock guitarist/ Frank Zappa) “Not a bad song on the album.” Rick Flynn Presents (USA) (About Time Country) “If you've not discovered her before, this is a fine introduction to the sort of music that in her 70s, has made her a star on the UK country scene.” Mike Davies, FATEA magazine “Like many good singer/songwriters, Linda’s songs refuse to be pinned down to any genre, crossing over seamlessly from rocky pop to sensitive cello driven ballads, slow country and a couple of numbers that owe a bit of a nod to between- the -wars light jazz.” Andy Rayner/Heatons Post. (Seventy) Some of Linda’s songs can be viewed on Youtube and her tracks are available for download or streaming from most digital platforms and Bandcamp www.lindalamon.bandcamp.com

www.lindalamon.com

Most of the instrumental tracks on her albums were recorded in Nashville during lockdown with Linda adding the vocals and harmonies with Josh Clark at Get Real Audio in Bath and Airtight studios in Manchester. UK folk and bluegrass instrumentalists John and Charlotte Breese with cellist Beth Porter have also contributed to the mix.

The Show hits Bath on the 21st July 2025 at the iconic 'St James Wine Vaults'

Special Guests Trudi Brunskill, Bob Gallie and Retini Dunleavy

Retini Dunleavy Retini was raised in Queens, New York before settling in Bristol, UK. Having been influenced strongly by Singer songwriters of the 1960’s, her music explores a range of different acoustic styles, blending a range of vocal sounds and melodic instrumental styles. Retini’s songs are inspired by emotions of love, her personal experiences on life and global events. She enjoys performing at the Bristol Fringe and loves discovering the wealth of music in and around Bristol.

Trudi Brunskill

Singer songwriter inspired by the music of so many titans, from Joni to Aretha, John Martyn, Bonnie Raitt, Van Morrison and so on through the canon of 70s and 80s folk blues and soul. Now enjoying post 60 freedom playing new originals marked by the poignant perspective and humour of these later years, still dreaming of the coast to coast tour… Tim Martin (AMAUK) –“ The most notable of those support acts was the extraordinary Trudi Brunskill. She offered up a mixture of songs drawing heavily on Joni Mitchell’s 'Don Juan’s Reckless Daughter' era, and between show quips courtesy of Julie Walters.”

Bob Gallie

Bob Gallie. Award Winning Acoustic Artist. Based in the UK. A Man A Voice A Guitar and A Song.

“In a CD full of highlights, there are still two that particularly stand out. Please Don't Cry is full of emotional anguish and pain, the song of someone baring his soul with vocals that come out bitter and bloodied. My own personal favourite was one of the live tracks, Cathedral Skies, which feels full of nostalgia and poignancy. This is the kind of strong collection of music that everyone is bound to have a different favourite; Blood And Bones, Under The Sun, Oh Mexico… every song is full of wonderful moments. Until the album arrives later in the year, this can only be picked up at Bob's live gigs. If you get the opportunity, go and see him, on this form it's bound to be a wonderful evening of musical brilliance. Adam Jenkins”

ADAM JENKINS - FATEA MAGAZINE

Joy Jefford

Joy grew up in Hong Kong, Shoreham, York and Sunderland - an unusual cocktail of places that cultivated her breadth of perspective and compassion for those on the margins. She always loved music and remembers being enchanted as a child when she heard the Carpenters' ‘Yesterday once more’ on the small radio in the kitchen. Whenever the family visited her grandparents she would head straight for the piano and make up soundtracks to imaginary film scenes. Although she enjoyed playing the recorder and later the flute at school, it never occurred to her that music could be a career. Instead she followed her passion for making a difference through work that spanned the fields of homelessness, overseas development, research and consultancy for voluntary organisations and, eventually, the creation of an innovative and widely used tool to enable and measure personal change called the Outcomes Star. Her own personal development has also been an important thread. She studied with Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield to become a Mindfulness Meditation Teacher, is a qualified Focusing Practitioner, and recently completed the Soul of Leadership with the Shalem Institute. She had a few piano lessons as a teenager and taught herself guitar in her twenties in order to play along as she sang her favourite songs in her bedroom. Then, to her great surprise, one day she found herself playing a song of her own. From that point onwards song-writing became a precious hobby, providing a outlet for self-expression, healing and creativity in her busy life as a working mother. Now that life has become more spacious, she is taking the opportunity to share her songs with a wider audience.

ARKATUS

'A new acoustic band from Birmingham playing mainly original songs. Featuring female lead vocals, violin, guitars and percussion

Shy Face Troubadour

Shy Face Troubadour serves as a fresh platform for the musical works of Tony Willé (not to be confused with the Dutch country artist of the same name). With a deep appreciation for lyrics and melody, his compositions are characterized by vibrant chord choices and distinctive progressions. His songwriting spans a variety of styles, driven by inspiration rather than adherence to a single genre—though an acoustic guitar often finds its place within his arrangements. Willé has been an active presence in the Midlands music scene, performing with bands such as The DAY, PARMA VIOLETS, and most notably, the cult indie band FELT. As a troubadour, his reserved nature contrasts with his passion for intimate live performances, where he feels most at home engaging with audiences and drawing energy from their connection.

“… a beautifully crafted piece of topical songwriting… (he's been) honing his craft as a songwriter for 30 years, and it shows. ” — Tom Robinson (BBC introducing) “Tony’s music is fab, his lyrical themes and melodies have haunted my soul for many weeks. Roll on Spring Man!” - Jim Jutton “Thoroughly enjoyable Tony ... Great album! Well done you and producer Michael Clarke.” - Andy Jenkins “A fab album from a great artist!” - Steve Hardman

Special Guests Robyn Gair & Racing Colours

RACING COLOURS Jason aka Racing Colours was a member of the band Kath Auto for 12 years, during which time the band performed at iconic local venues such as The Grapes and The Boardwalk, both of which are sadly no longer in operation. In 2016 he supported Norman Watt-Roy (of Ian Dury and The Blockheads) at The Greystones. Since embarking on a solo career, Racing Colours has performed at events including the Nether Edge Festival, Tramlines Fringe, and Woodstocksbridge. They have been actively connecting with other local musicians and are exploring opportunities for collaborative projects in the coming year. Their music can be described as indie folk, though it is characterized by a lively and energetic edge. Believing that acoustic music doesn’t have to be mellow or soporific, Racing Colours brings a vibrant energy to their performances. Their song "Lippy," which showcases their style, is available to view on TikTok and Instagram. They can be found on TikTok under the handle @racingcolours.

Robyn Gair

Special Guests Graham Larkin and Eve Thomas

Graham Larkin says "Since retiring, music and art have become my way of life. After more than 50 years of songwriting and recording I have amassed a huge collection of recordings, and since retiring have created a small number of paintings. I have recently enhanced my recording and mixing skills so that many of those old recordings, originally produced on old analogue gear, can now have a new lease of life, and many of the musicians involved in them then, are bringing some new music to life now. If this can raise well needed funds for Oasis Relief then it will all have been worthwhile. I am still writing, recording and painting."

Eve Thomas

Eve Thomas is a singer/songwriter based in Selby, North Yorkshire. Performing regularly around York and Leeds, Eve draws listeners in with her mellow style and flowing vocals. Her original songs have been described as “quirky, enchanting and captivating” with lyrics akin to “poetry in music”. Eve’s first album, ‘Sometime, Someplace’, was released on the 20th of June and is available on all major streaming services. Follow her at Eve Thomas Music on Facebook and Instagram to stay up to date with her music and gigs.
