“The James Street Band” is the group of musicians that play alongside John in live performances. Taking their name from this iconic Liverpool street reflects John’s love of Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band. They complement John’s heartfelt songs perfectly.
Denis Parkinson – Guitars and vocals
Denis is a singer-songwriter from Liverpool. His latest album is 'Liverpool Skyline' which is available here. An accomplished songwriter and solo performer, he has recently formed the band ‘Northline’.

David Nixon – Percussion, Harmonica and vocals
David is a highly regarded singer-songwriter, recording under the name “David Nixon’s Navigation”. His album "This Side Other Side" showcases his own considerable talent and features guest singers Robert Vincent, Amy Chalmers, Marc Vormawah, and Poppy Holiday. Have a listen here.
When not on-stage, David can be spotted cruising around the waterways of the north-west as captain of his own narrowboat.
