Liverpool Acoustic Collective to launch 'Scouse Live Aid' charity single
Liverpool Acoustic are pleased to announce the release of a rather special song - Someday We'll See Better Days - with all profits going towards raising money and awareness for the homeless.
The song - due for release on Monday 3rd October - was written by local singer songwriter John Jenkins, who was inspired by the We Shall Overcome events of October 2015 in raising money for local homeless charities.
"I was attending an event in which everyone at the end of the show joined in to the Pete Seeger song We Shall Overcome. I was overcome by the sentiment of the song and the occasion, and wished I could have written a song like that”. I had a go and came up with a song called Someday We'll See Better Days. I then thought it would be fun to ask a few people to sing on it, and a kind of 'Scouse Live Aid' started to take shape."
John asked people who are in the main associated with Liverpool Acoustic, and the response to the request was over whelming, with 19 musicians and singers giving up their time to partake.

Ian Prowse, Robert Vincent, Vanessa Murray, Denis Parkinson, Mary McCombs, Natalie James, Maria Silker, Stuart Todd, Derek King, Barry Jones, Paul Dunbar, John Jenkins, David Nixon, Laura McLain, Alan O’Hare, Kevin Critchley, Emma Dos Santos Rodriquez, Jade Tremarco and Jo Bywater.
John Jenkins worked alongside Jon Lawton who recorded, co-produced and played most of the instruments on the song at his Crosstown Studios.

The single has a minimum price of £1 although people are welcome to donate more as all money is going to the worthwhile cause. There will be a limited run of physical CDs available at Liverpool Acoustic events and online, while stocks last.
The single is being officially launched between 1.00pm and 4.00pm on the afternoon of Saturday 10th September at Mathew Street's View Two Gallery as part of the Liverpool Acoustic Afternoon and the launch of the Liverpool Acoustic Songwriting Challenge.
On this occasion the chosen charity is The Whitechapel Centre who in their words "are open 365 days a year providing a service to rough sleepers, people living in temporary accommodation and those at risk of becoming homeless. Last year, 2,605 people came to our door."
